Langtang Trekking

Langtang area lies in the north of Kathmandu Valley and south of the Tibetan Border.  The Langtang valley is aptly called ‘’the valley of glaciers’’. Langtang region is very popular destination for trekking. This region is protected by Langtang National Park and  has a number of high peaks including Langtang Lirung, This region is easily accessible from Kathmandu is the Langtang- Helambu region which enjoys snow-covered peaks, a mild climate, splendid varieties of natural and cultural diversity with amazing Himalayan views. The Langtang Region is rich in biodiversity and scenic beauty. Langtang region trek route goes through traditional/ ethnic village Dunche. On the way, we can see Nepal’s national flower, the Rhododendron which looks amazing with the backdrop snow-capped mountains. The majority of the residents are Tamang in this region.

Langtang is regarded as the most beautiful valley of Nepal. In Langtang there is also a sacred lake called Gosainkunda which is known as the holiest lake in Nepal. Similarly, we can see different beautiful monasteries, high peaks various flora and fauna, pine forest, glaciers and mountain lakes. After one hour drive from Kathmandu, we will be in Sundarijal which is the starting point of this trek, where there are sparkling waterfalls flowing down through oak forest. The best season for trekking the Langtang area is spring and autumn.
