Cho oyu Expedition
Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world which is located 30km west of Mt Everest at the border between China and Nepal. It is considered the easiest 8000m peak in the world with low avalanche risk and a short and direct summit ascent. Cho Oyu is popular because of it’s relatively, non-technical climbing route. It is said that Cho Oyu means ‘Goddess of Turquoise’. The peak can be climbed from both Nepalese side up on south face and north-east ridge routes and Tibetan side along the Northwest ridge route with North approach. The mountain is climbable during both spring and autumn seasons. The expedition starts in Kathmandu. T he first part of this expedition is a five days drive and acclimatization trip to Kodari( the border town between Nepal and China), Zhangmu, Nyalam, Tingri and the Cho Oyu’s Chinese Base Camp. From the Chinese base camp you will drive and trek up the Interim Camp (5360m) and the Advanced Base Camp (5720m). From here our climbing schedule starts. All the conditions are stated in the itinerary for the travelers who prefer full package program. Clients safety and Security is vital concern even as traveling with Dawn in Nepal Adventure and we informed that your travel leader / guide has the authority to modify or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is necessary due to the Weather conditions, health conditions, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary.
